Itinerary

DAY 01CUSCO-CHINCHERO- MARAS - MORAY- OLLANTAYTAMBO AGUAS CALIENTES

Depart from your hotel and head to Chinchero, a typical village that preserves its Inca and Spanish heritage. You will be charmed by its agricultural terraces and beautiful colonial church, steeped in
centuries of history.

We will then continue on to the spectacular Maras salt pans, terraced pools fed by salt water from an underground spring, astonishing evidence of the ancient marine presence in the Andes. Tasting of its famous black salt.
Then, departure for the village of Maras for lunch. Option to eat in a local restaurant with a beautiful view of the mountains.

After lunch, we will depart for Moray, a fascinating Inca agricultural laboratory. This enigmatic site uses natural sinkholes transformed into circular terraces, allowing for the reproduction of
various microclimates.

We will then continue our adventure to Ollantaytambo, an iconic site that was once a ceremonial center, a fortress, and the scene of a memorable victory for the Quechuas over the
Spanish conquistadors. We will also visit its famous Temple of the Sun.
Then, transfer to the train station for a trip to the village of Aguas Calientes, at the gates of Machu Picchu. Check-in at the hotel.

DAY 02AGUAS CALIENTES-MACHUPICCHU- OLLANTAYTAMBO-CUSCO

A day dedicated to discovering this new wonder of the world, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
Early morning departure from your hotel with your English-speaking guide to take the shuttle bus (30 min.) to the main entrance of Machu Picchu (2,450 m).
Guided tour of this extraordinary citadel discovered in 1911 by an American historian. The tour will take you along the most comprehensive 2-A circuit with panoramic photos of the citadel and corresponding explanations.

After the tour, you will have the opportunity to walk down a path through lush vegetation (7 km) to the town of Aguas Calientes.

Train to Ollantaytambo and transfer to the city of Cusco.
Overnight stay at a hotel in Cusco.

DAY 03CUSCO - MONTAGNE PALCOYO-CUSCO

Departure from your hotel. 3-hour drive to the trailhead. Short stops to take photos of the scenery and herds of alpacas. Option to stop en route for breakfast and also on the way back for lunch.

Arrival at the starting point (4,850 m). One-hour gradual climb to the viewpoint of the rainbow mountain and snow-capped mountains. Free time for photos, depending on weather conditions.

Then a short walk to the Stone Forest (about one hour round trip). Beautiful needle-shaped rock formations.
Descent to return to the vehicle.

Transfer to Cusco, overnight stay at a hotel in Cusco.
