ESNNA Code

The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism has approved the Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA). This initiative promotes prevention policies and prevents the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism, with the aim of eliminating the sexual exploitation of minors. Therefore, in accordance with current Peruvian legislation, tourists are warned that the sexual exploitation and abuse of minors in the country are considered crimes and are therefore punishable by criminal penalties.

  • We support international campaigns and networks that promote the protection of minors in tourism.
  • We conduct regular audits to ensure that our child protection policies are being implemented effectively.

Legal regulations

Within the framework of legal provisions that criminally punish behaviors related to ESNNA, we have:

  • Law No. 29408 « General Tourism Law » and its regulations, approved by Supreme Decree No. 003-2010-MINCETUR.
  • Law No. 30963 « Law amending the Criminal Code concerning penalties for the crime of sexual exploitation in its various forms and related crimes, with a particular focus on the protection of girls, boys, adolescents, and women. »
  • Law No. 30802 « Law establishing the conditions for the admission of girls, boys, and adolescents to residential facilities in order to guarantee their protection and integrity. »

At this agency,we do not promote or permit the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, nor any other criminal offense that we may become aware of in the course of our business, as provided for by Law No. 29408.
